I found this affordable English course unconsciously. Thanks to Twitter platform which help me to know this English course website and also the owner’s Twitter Account!
It had been a long time ago, when
I opened my Twitter account, as usual, scroll down, and read some attractive
news. Then, all of sudden, I read GR’s Course website toward retweeted GR’s CEO
Twitter account. For the very first time, I was a bit curious about the method
which GR would bring for the students just only maximize Google Drive Platform.
Surprisingly, GR’s Course not only offers us learning English but also other
languages; such as Mandarin, French, Korea, etc. One uniqueness from GR’s is a
few types of learning English; Writing class, TOEFL, Accent and Speaking,
others.
I was looking forward to doing
positive deeds during the pandemic, because I reckon that I have sufficient
time besides my work to regain my convenient in writing. So that, I decided to accompany
the Writing class. Mind you, I also joined the TOEFL Class because of my
curiosity. This was the first time I knew learning English without Face to Face
with the teachers.
Learn at GR’s you have to pay
only forty-five thousand rupiahs (Rp45000)
for the first level, it means you are a new member or already start to learn
because they also offer the next level after completing the first one. In a group roughly involve 100 students and
will be invited to WA Group. After that, the admin will send you a
comprehensive email with the class’ rules, the WA Link to join in a group, booklet
or what will you learn about, the students' name list, and the class’ procedure.
The procedure in Writing Class is a bit different because you will work in a
pairs. The name after your name in the student list who will be your partner
and has a responsibility to correct your writing task; such as the grammar,
coherence and cohesion of each paragraph, and the vocabulary you used.
Firstly, I’m going to focus on
the Writing Class Session. I was incredibly excited to join this class, might
because I fond of writing. To me as a person who has dreamed to be a
professional writer, it is a bit piece of cake to regain my convenience in
writing through this class. Because each week, the teacher will send you a
different topic to be a base in your writing task, including the rules of
writing; how long you have to write regarding the topic, or the minimum word
are required to write, and the deadline time. Generally, you have a week to
write and correct each other with your partner. Moreover, you have to send it
before the deadline is up and the topic will be changing.
I learned more through this
course learning style and I hope so for everyone who wants to take this course
or ongoing. Not only the materials, but also how to work together with someone
you both never know and meet; lobbying someone because of the deadline J and chat
appropriately. Besides, how to manage your time well, because sometimes we work
under a tight time, provided you work.
What a bit challenging for me and
sometimes bring me doubt was when I correct my partner’s writing task. I didn’t
use any English corrector yet to hone my English grammar; searching out on the
internet for what I doubt or forget. To my mind, it worked well to learn
English and understand it clearly, because I have to read the whole explanation
for the topic I searched, not as instant as use English corrector. Moreover, in
this part, I could get a new vocab from what my friend writes, this is the
prons. Also, fortunately, If you get a person who graduated and/ English
literature students! Such an amazing partner. Mind you, no worries If you don’t,
because it depends on your learning style or how convenient you are.
In my point of view, the writing
class is impressively successful for me to regain my writing hobby. On the
other hand, include learning English vocab, grammar, and others. What I was
thinking is this way could work well because they treat us to practice in a
restricted time with a different topic each week and also the more week, the
more words are supposed. I highly recommend this Writing Class for those who
fond of writing and intend to fill the leisure time due to the pandemic.
